The first official St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held in Seattle in 1972 and a parade has been held every year since then in Seattle to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Starting in the late 1970s, cultural events were organized in connection with the parade and were held in various locations until the first Irish Festival Seattle was held at the Seattle’s 54th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which this year starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, celebrates Irish heritage through music, dance and community. Hosted by the Irish St. Patrick’s Day parades & festivals in the Puget Sound region. St. Patrick’s Day has been celebrated annually in Seattle since the latter half of the 1800s. Seattle Center’s Festal hosts the Irish Festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. 2025 marks the 54th annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Seattle. In addition to the parade, there are ongoing events at City Center this weekend for residents and visitors alike to celebrate. A storm system brought rain to the parade, however it is also making for a lucky weekend for holiday skiiers.
